Why This Reference Exists
Printed Phoenix and Salt River Valley directories survive, but present-day Maricopa County records are split by purpose. The Assessor and Recorder document parcels and instruments. The Clerk maintains court and marriage records. AZDHS handles birth and death certificates, while historical volumes sit with the Arizona Memory Project, State Research Library, and State Archives. We organize the official search routes, contacts, limits, and known coverage so readers can start with the correct custodian.
What the Directory Organizes
- Pages by angle: the street directory (address-keyed records), the city directory (the historical shelf), and the resident lookup (one-person searches)
- Official keepers: the county Assessor and Recorder, Elections, Superior Court Clerk, AZDHS, and Arizona library collections
- Practical methods: parcel-to-deed searches, court verification, directory reading, and backward household research
- Access boundaries: Arizona Public Records Law, restricted vital records, protected voter information, and focused request options
What We Do Not Provide
This is a private reference service, not part of Maricopa County, the State of Arizona, a court, library, or records office. Those boundaries mean:
- We cannot confirm whether a specific person currently lives in Maricopa County
- We cannot pull, certify, or change any record on your behalf
- We cannot add anyone to, or remove anyone from, any roll or database
- We cannot give legal advice about a record or a dispute
- We cannot guarantee that a portal, fee, hour, or coverage statement has not changed since research was completed
Only the custodian office can confirm, certify, or correct a record. Nothing found through this site may be used for credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions.
